Começa hoje (10) a Campanha Nacional de Vacinação contra o Sarampo

Para manter a população brasileira protegida, o Ministério da Saúde, iniciou hoje (10),  a 1ª etapa da Campanha de Vacinação contra Sarampo que estende-se até o dia 13 de março.

O público-alvo da ação são crianças e jovens que tenham entre 5 e 19 anos que nunca fizeram a vacina ou quem recebeu apenas uma dose.

Segundo estimativa da Secretaria de Saúde do estado, 245 mil crianças e jovens dessa idade não estão protegidos contra a doença. Desde agosto do ano passado, 82 casos de sarampo foram confirmados no Rio Grande do Sul. Um em cada quatro casos registrados foi em pessoas nessa faixa etária.

Em Condor, a sala de vacinação oferece a imunização de forma gratuita.

O Dia D de Mobilização nacional está marcado para sábado (15). Também podem procurar as unidades de saúde quem perdeu a caderneta de vacinação.

A doença

Sarampo é uma doença infecciosa grave, causada por um vírus. Sua transmissão ocorre quando o doente tosse, fala, espirra ou respira próximo de outras pessoas. Qualquer indivíduo que apresentar febre e manchas no corpo (exantemas) acompanhado de tosse, coriza ou conjuntivite deve procurar os serviços de saúde para investigação, principalmente aqueles que estiveram nos 30 dias anteriores em viagem a locais com circulação do vírus.

Casos suspeitos devem ser informados imediatamente na Secretaria Municipal de Saúde.
